Claude Marketplace: Anthropic’s Bold Zero-Commission Play for Enterprise AI

Anthropic just did something interesting — and honestly, kind of unexpected. They launched [Claude Marketplace](https://claude.com/platform/marketplace), an enterprise-focused storefront where companies can buy third-party software built on Claude. Think of it as Anthropic’s answer to AWS Marketplace or Azure Marketplace, but with one big twist: they’re not taking a cut.

Yeah, you read that right. Zero commission. If you’ve ever dealt with cloud marketplace fees, you know how unusual that is. AWS and Azure typically pocket a percentage of every transaction that flows through their platforms. Anthropic is saying “nah, keep it all” — at least for now. The bet here is pretty clear: get more enterprises locked into the Claude ecosystem, and the model usage fees will more than make up for the lost marketplace revenue. Smart move, honestly.

The way it works is straightforward. If your company already has a committed annual spend with Anthropic’s API, you can redirect part of that budget toward purchasing tools from marketplace partners. No extra procurement hoops, no separate billing headaches. The launch lineup includes some solid names — [Snowflake](https://www.snowflake.com/), [GitLab](https://about.gitlab.com/), [Harvey](https://www.harvey.ai/) for legal workflows, [Rogo](https://www.rogodata.com/) for investment analysis, and developer favorites [Replit](https://replit.com/) and [Lovable](https://lovable.dev/). Not a bad starting roster.

The timing is also worth noting. This dropped on March 6th, right in the middle of Anthropic’s whole Pentagon controversy, which makes it feel like a deliberate “hey, look at our actual business” signal. And the market noticed — it hit [#1 on Product Hunt](https://www.producthunt.com/products/claude-marketplace) on March 8th with 324 upvotes, and got covered by [VentureBeat](https://venturebeat.com/technology/anthropic-launches-claude-marketplace-giving-enterprises-access-to-claude), [SiliconANGLE](https://siliconangle.com/2026/03/06/anthropic-launches-claude-marketplace-third-party-cloud-services/), and [The Next Web](https://thenextweb.com/news/anthropic-marketplace-claude-enterprise-software) the same week.

It’s still in limited preview, so you’ll need to talk to your Anthropic account team to get access. But the direction is clear — Anthropic wants to be more than just an API provider. They want to be the platform that an entire AI software ecosystem runs on. The zero-commission move is aggressive, and it’ll be fun to watch how AWS and Azure respond.
