Airbyte spent eight years moving data into warehouses. Now they’re moving it into agents.
Airbyte Agents is a managed Context Store that pre-replicates and pre-indexes data from Salesforce, Zendesk, Slack, Linear, Jira, Gong and 50+ other SaaS sources. Instead of an agent hitting a vendor MCP and burning thousands of tokens parsing raw API responses, it queries an already-indexed copy.
The token math
Internal benchmarks: 90% fewer tokens on Zendesk, 80% on Gong, 75% on Linear vs vendor MCPs. Agents also make 40% fewer tool calls in early tests. The difference between a $5 task and a $0.50 one.
Why this lands
MCPs solved discovery — every SaaS vendor shipped one. They didn’t solve cost. Each call drags raw JSON into the context window. Airbyte already handles enterprise data replication, so pre-indexing for agents is the obvious extension.
The Context Store API is the entry point. Point an agent at it, query across connectors, get structured context back instead of API blobs. Fits support agents pulling tickets plus CRM history, sales agents stitching Gong calls with HubSpot, ops agents reading across Jira and Linear without auth juggling.
50 connectors at launch, 600+ in the pipeline. Show HN debut hit 150 points the same week.
