InsBotics puts its desktop companion robot on Kickstarter April 26, 2026, priced $300-400. Small round body, HD circular face screen, 360° rotatable vision sensor. The “world’s first AI lifeform” tagline is bold marketing for what’s essentially a webcam, screen and mic wrapped around a multimodal model.
What the hardware actually does
The 360° camera gives continuous awareness — Pophie tracks your gaze, greets you when you sit down, reacts to gestures. Multimodal fusion combines vision, audio, posture sensing and touch. Long-term memory and emotional simulation come standard, with 10 languages at launch. Practical bits: meeting-note timelines, Pomodoro, posture and eye-strain reminders. Skill packs cover singing, dancing, role-play, quizzes.
The catch nobody mentions
There’s a Cloud Brain subscription. Without it, Pophie still does on-device presence and touch — but rich dialogue is gated. So $300 is the entry fee, not the full bill. CES 2026 demos drove the early buzz; Kickstarter is where the wallet talk starts.
