Narwal Flow 2 Robot Vacuum ships April 20 with an on-device VLM and Alexa webhooks

Narwal pushed its 2026 flagship into US homes on April 20. Preorders opened April 13 at $1,099.99 on the US site and Amazon. The news worth caring about: a vision-language model now lives inside a floor-cleaning robot, not a research demo.

The hardware

It’s a vacuum-and-mop robot with dual RGB cameras, an onboard AI processor, and a cloud-side VLM Omni Model doing the heavy recognition work. 30,000Pa suction. 158°F hot-water mopping. The upgraded FlowWash track-style mop self-rinses mid-run instead of smearing dirty water across a second room. Narwal claims 200+ household object categories recognized out of the box — cables, socks, pet waste, shoes — and the cloud VLM keeps expanding that list after ship.

Why the API angle matters

The Narwal Home app already exposes cloud hooks to Google Home and Alexa, and the device ties into IFTTT webhooks. That means an agent can trigger deep cleaning on a named room, flag a stain zone for a re-mop pass, or call the bot back to its dock on a schedule. For anyone wiring up a household-chores agent, this is one of the first mass-market floor robots pairing a real VLM with a callable cloud API.
