At a closed-door New York event on May 5, Anthropic shipped ten pre-built agents for banks and insurers. Pitchbook generation, earnings analysis, credit memos, KYC, month-end close, policy audits — the spreadsheet-heavy grunt work middle-office teams burn weekends on.
What’s actually in the box
Three things ship together. Claude Opus 4.7 with a finance tune that scores 64.37% on the Vals AI Finance Agent benchmark. Native Microsoft 365 add-ins for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word — agents work inside the file, not next to it. And eight MCP data connectors including Moody’s (600M+ company credit ratings), FIS, and D&B.
How developers plug in
Three paths: Claude Cowork for chat use, a Claude Code plugin for engineers, and a Managed Agents cookbook for custom workflows. Typical jobs — auto-build a sector pitchbook with Moody’s data, run a credit memo against D&B in minutes, close books with audited tool calls. FIS is separately wiring agentic AI into bank anti-financial-crime pipelines.
Citadel, BNY, Carlyle, Mizuho, and Walleye are already in production. First time Anthropic has bundled model plus data plus Office integration for a single vertical — a template the rest of enterprise AI will copy.
