Bret Taylor’s Sierra just raised $950M at a $15B+ post-money valuation — the biggest single round any AI-agent-only company has ever pulled. Tiger Global and GV led. Benchmark, Sequoia, and Greenoaks piled in. Sierra now says it serves 40%+ of the Fortune 50 and went from $100M ARR in November to $150M by early February. The enterprise agent category just got its first crowned winner.
What Ghostwriter actually is
Ghostwriter is an agent that builds other agents. You hand it raw materials — SOPs, transcripts from existing support calls, whiteboard photos, a voice recording describing what you want, or just plain English — and it produces a working agent that runs across voice, chat, and email in 30+ languages. Then it watches real customer interactions, identifies where the agent underperforms, validates fixes in a sandbox, and ships updates on its own. The Nordstrom rollout reportedly shipped in weeks, not quarters.
API and SDK
The Sierra Platform ships a full SDK for deploying customer-service agents directly. Ghostwriter sits on top, turning a natural-language description into a deployable agent spec. Typical use cases: returns, insurance claims, mortgage refinancing, donor management — anything voice-or-chat-shaped that used to need an outsourced contact center. The pitch is that building an agent should look more like writing a brief than wiring a workflow.
