Salesforce announced Agentforce Coworker — an AI agent that lives in the search bar and, in its words, “doesn’t just find things, it works with you.” Ask it anything in plain language from Salesforce Global Search and it taps CRM data, workflows, customer history, opportunities, and cases, then takes action in real time.
## Where it runs
Not just inside Salesforce. Coworker works across Slack, Microsoft Teams, ChatGPT, and wherever else you work — converse with your CRM from any of those surfaces. Available to all Agentforce customers on Enterprise, Unlimited, and Agentforce 1 editions.
## The “search bar as agent surface” pattern
Notice the framing: the search bar becomes the agent entry point. Google announced agents in Search at I/O the same week. The search box — the single most-used UI element in enterprise software — is being repurposed from “find a record” to “ask an agent to do something.” Same instinct, different vendor.
## Why it matters
Salesforce’s moat is CRM data, and the bet is that the most natural way to act on it is conversational, not clicking through screens. Embedding the agent in Global Search and in Slack/Teams/ChatGPT meets users where they already are. The agentic-enterprise race is now about whose agent sits closest to the data and the user’s existing workflow.
