Andrew Ng co-founded Coursera in 2012 to put lectures online for millions at once. Fourteen years later he’s back to blow up his own model. LearnVector, his new company, isn’t a course platform — it’s an agentic AI tutor meant to teach you one person at a time.
What it actually is
LearnVector is an AI-native learning system, not a video library. The pitch: an agent that maps a personalized learning path, adapts to how you learn, and drills you until you’ve genuinely mastered the material — the kind of relentless one-on-one attention only rich kids with private tutors ever got. Education has always been one-to-many because humans don’t scale. Agents do.
Why it’s worth watching
On July 28, Coursera put in $100M for roughly a third of the company, fully diluted. That’s Ng, Coursera, and nine figures pointing at the same target — plus access to Coursera’s 300M+ learners and 12,000 enterprise customers as a distribution firehose. First product experiences land in early 2027. Nothing to try yet, but when the guy who taught half of AI Twitter machine learning bets his next act on AI tutors, you pay attention.
