Terminal Mode puts your coding agent status on AR glasses

Coding agents now run for minutes at a time, and you end up babysitting a terminal to see what they’re doing. Terminal Mode, one of the launches fighting for the Mac desktop this week, takes a different route: it projects your coding agent’s live status onto AR glasses.

## What it does

Instead of another window or menu-bar widget, Terminal Mode pushes the agent’s activity into your field of view — what it’s running, where it is in a task, when it needs you — so you can look away from the editor and still know the agent is on track. It fits a broader shift this week’s Product Hunt crop made obvious: AI agents are moving from “thinking with you” to “executing on your behalf,” which changes what you actually need to see.

## Why the form factor matters

Most agent-observability tools compete for screen space. Terminal Mode bets the status belongs off-screen entirely, on glasses, so a long-running agent becomes ambient rather than a tab you keep flicking back to. It’s an early, opinionated take on where the human sits once the agent does the typing — watching a glanceable heads-up display instead of a scrolling log.
