Search has always waited for you to ask. This flips it. You create, customize, and manage multiple agents right inside Search — one tracking a price drop, one on a stock, one on a beat you follow. The box that owned the query for 25 years now runs standing agents for you.
Why it matters
Google just made AI Mode’s default model Gemini 3.5 Flash worldwide — the same box already hits 1 billion monthly users across nearly 200 countries and 98 languages. Turning that surface proactive is the biggest bet yet on agents replacing the search bar. Every rival building an “AI assistant” now has to answer the one place a billion people already start.
