Coasty scores 82.81% on OSWorld Verified — and the OSWorld team confirmed it

Most computer-use agents demo beautifully on a clean Chrome tab and fall apart the moment you point them at a 2009-era hospital billing desktop. Coasty (YC S26) is an API built for exactly that second case.

What it actually is

An API for computer-use agents. You send a natural-language task, pick a machine or browser environment, hand over credentials and files, and the agent drives the UI with screenshots plus mouse and keyboard. It verifies the result and returns a record of actions, outputs, and errors.

The key design choice: it reads the screen instead of replaying recorded clicks. When a vendor ships an update overnight and moves a menu, RPA scripts break and Coasty doesn’t. Misclick at step 3 of a 20-step workflow? It notices mid-run and recovers from the error instead of restarting. Permission dialogs, surprise popups, focus-stealing modals, slow pages — all handled.

Why the number matters

82.81% on OSWorld Verified, confirmed by the OSWorld team, with an internal run at 85.60%. Coasty’s own blog puts OpenAI’s agent at 38% — take vendor comparisons with salt, but the confirmed score is real.

Founders Nitish and Prateek are targeting healthcare ops first. SOC2 and HIPAA compliant, zero data retention available. There’s an open-source version, open-computer-use, if you’d rather bring your own keys.
