Roborock Saros 20 Sonic launches globally with a 7.98cm chassis and an open API your Home Assistant agent can actually call

Roborock’s 2026 flagship robot vacuum hit shelves in April, and r/Roborock has been at war with the Dreame X60 Max Ultra camp ever since. Vacuum Wars crowned it Best Robot Vacuum of 2026. TechRadar slotted it into their “two products we’re most excited about” pick.

What’s in the box

A wet-and-dry robot vacuum with one trick nobody else has: the RetractSense navigation tower folds into the chassis on command, dropping total height to 7.98 cm — low enough to slide under most sofas and kitchen toekicks. The HyperForce main motor pulls 35,000 Pa. The VibraRise 5.0 sonic mop pad vibrates 4,000 times per minute and extends into corners. AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 lifts the whole body over thresholds and short rugs. The RockDock base station washes the mop pad with 212°F / 100°C hot water after every run.

Why the agent crowd cares

Roborock ships a cloud REST API plus Matter, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Home support out of the box. The community-maintained python-roborock SDK already hands developers the live floor map, dirty-area detection output, per-zone scheduling, and full clean-route control. Wrap it in an MCP server and a local Home Assistant or LangChain agent can trigger a kitchen-only cycle after you cook, re-run the hallway the dog just walked through, or read the dirty-area map into a larger home-ops workflow.
