Alibaba folds three agents into Qwen Office — the office AI entry war just started

Alibaba spent six months running an agent horse race. Now it’s picking one horse. QoderWork, Wukong, and MuleRun are being merged into a single product called Qwen Office, led by new DingTalk CEO Chen Yusen. Existing users of all three get carried over.

What it actually is

Qwen Office is a desktop-plus-cloud agent suite for office work, not a chatbot. The three parts each do one job: QoderWork sits locally, reads your authorized folders, drives the browser, and spits out Word, Excel, PPT, and PDF files. Wukong plugs into DingTalk docs, calendars, and approval flows with enterprise permissions. MuleRun handles the long-running cloud tasks that need to keep chugging for hours.

The pitch: hand your repetitive file-shuffling and cross-app grunt work to an agent, no coding required.

Why it matters

Alibaba isn’t alone. Tencent and ByteDance consolidated their agent lines the same week. The bet underneath it all — the real AI mass market isn’t millions of developers, it’s billions of office workers. Whoever owns that entry point owns the next platform.
