Suno shipped Studio 2.0 on August 13, 2026. Studio is Suno’s browser-based DAW — a real timeline, not a song generator — and this release is the one that makes it look like actual production software.
What’s new
MIDI, finally, and it was the most-requested feature since Studio launched in September 2025. Import, record, and edit MIDI on the timeline; no controller needed, your typing keyboard works. There’s a built-in wavetable synth with oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs and a mod matrix. Plus automation curves, factory devices like sidechain compression and convolution reverb, and much better stem separation that also works on audio you bring in from outside Suno. Premier subscribers ($30/mo) get 32-bit/48kHz multitrack export with the download cap removed.
Why it matters
The chat bar is the real story. It’s session-aware — it can see your project, generate instruments and vocals into it, tidy up the arrangement, and build you a custom effects plugin from a plain-English description. Plugin creation costs no credits at launch.
Suno raised $400M at a $5.4B valuation in June. This is what that money buys: AI music moving from “make me a song” to “be my engineer.”
