What Makes It Interesting for Developers
Withings runs one of the most mature health APIs in the consumer hardware space. Every measurement from Body Scan 2 — weight, body composition, ECG, vascular age, nerve health scores, electrodermal activity — is accessible through their REST API with OAuth 2.0 auth. Register an app at developer.withings.com, get user consent, pull data. They support Webhooks for real-time notifications when new measurements come in, plus manual polling endpoints. Home Assistant already has a native Withings integration. If you’re building an AI agent that monitors health data, this is one of the few consumer devices where the API is actually production-ready and documented.
Shipping and FDA Status
Priced at $599.95 ($899 AU / €499.95 / £449.95). Expected to ship Q2 2026 — currently in the delivery window. Heart-related features (hypertension detection, AFib) still pending FDA clearance. Withings support forums show strong pre-order demand, with users actively asking about ship dates.
