Rokid Style AI Glasses: 38.5 Grams, $299, and a Million-Unit Sales Target for 2026

Meta sells 7 million smart glasses a year and owns 73% of the market. A Chinese company called Rokid thinks it can crack that open with a pair of AI glasses that weigh less than a chicken egg.

The Hardware

Rokid Style is a screenless, voice-first smart glasses at 38.5 grams — roughly 10 grams lighter than Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Glasses and a full 12 grams under Brilliant Labs Halo. The frame is TR90 polymer titanium. Sony IMX681 sensor drives the 12MP camera with EIS, shooting 4K video up to 10 minutes per clip. Battery lasts 12 hours on a single charge.

The no-screen bet is deliberate. By killing the display, Rokid got the weight low enough that you can wear these all day without forehead fatigue — the same pain point that sank Google Glass a decade ago.

It supports prescription lenses from -15.00 to +15.00 diopters, with photochromic, polarized, and blue-light options. That’s a wider Rx range than Meta’s new Blayzer and Scriber Optics line.

Why It’s Trending Now

CNBC ran a head-to-head comparison with Meta Ray-Ban on April 13, and the coverage went wide. Rokid’s pitch is simple: similar AI features, $200 cheaper ($299 vs Meta’s $499 prescription smart glasses), and lighter. The open AI ecosystem runs ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Qwen simultaneously — not locked to a single assistant.

Rokid says it’s targeting 1 million units sold in 2026 with 40% of revenue from overseas. Already on Amazon in the US. The company is also reportedly filing for a Hong Kong IPO by end of April.

At $299 for the base and $398 for the Premium Bundle with prescription lenses, Rokid is pricing this as a land grab, not a margin play. Whether they can actually move a million units against Meta’s distribution machine is the real question — but the spec sheet makes the argument.
