A Reddit thread about agent specialization turned into the fastest-climbing repo of the week. msitarzewski’s agency-agents hit 120K GitHub stars, adding nearly 1,800 in a single day. It’s not another prompt pack.
What it actually is
It’s an open-source roster of 232 specialized agents spread across 16 departments — frontend engineers, backend API experts, security auditors, even a Reddit community manager. Each one ships with a defined persona, workflow, and concrete deliverables, not a vague “you are a helpful assistant” template. The bet: instead of hiring one do-everything freelancer, you hire a whole company and call whichever expert you need.
Why people are installing it
The roster is just markdown with YAML frontmatter, so it drops into Claude Code natively. A companion native app (macOS, Linux, Windows) installs the full set into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini and others in one click, with conversion scripts for the rest. MIT licensed, local-first, zero telemetry.
The reason it spread: it makes “multi-agent division of labor” something you can install today, not a concept you read about. If you’re already living in Claude Code, it’s a free, opinionated team waiting on your machine.
