Every AI image generator hands you a flat JPEG. You want to move the logo? Too bad, it’s baked into the pixels. ByteDance’s new flagship image model, launched July 8, kills that problem.
What Seedream 5.0 Pro actually does
It’s a text-to-image model with one killer trick: layered output. One render splits into a background plus up to 20 element layers, each exported as a transparent PNG. Better, it auto-inpaints whatever the subject was hiding — slide an object aside and there’s a finished background underneath, not a hole. Drag the layers straight into Figma or Photoshop and edit. No manual cutouts.
It also reasons about your prompt, handles dense infographics, and renders in-image text in ~14 languages, including Chinese, Arabic, and Korean. People are already calling it a GPT-Image 2 rival.
Where to try it and build with it
Consumers get it inside Dreamina (CapCut) with free daily credits. Developers hit the API through Volcano Engine, BytePlus ModelArk, and fal — pricing starts around $0.03 per image and climbs to roughly $0.09 at full 2K. First reference image is free.
The obvious use case: product mockups, ad creatives, and UI assets that ship editable, not flattened.
