What it actually does
This isn’t a separate app. It’s a data connection. You authorize ChatGPT to read your Apple Health metrics and your actual medical records, and it pulls from the systems that matter: Epic, Oracle Health, One Medical, Function Health. From there it reads your lab results, tracks how a number moved across visits, and preps you with the right questions before you see a doctor. Every single time it touches medical data, it asks first.
Why it matters
OpenAI says 300 million people a week already ask ChatGPT health questions. Wiring that traffic directly into real EHR data is a bigger consumer play than any wearable maker has pulled off. The privacy line is the whole game here: OpenAI promises this data never trains models and never touches ads. Whether people trust that promise is the story worth watching.
