/mission for Claude Code (Spine) turns one coder into a whole crew

Claude Code is great at holding one thread. It’s terrible at running six at once. Spine’s answer is a single slash command: type /mission, describe what you want built, and it spawns a full team of subagents that split the work and coordinate — planner, builders, reviewers — instead of one agent grinding through the whole thing linearly.

What it actually is

It’s a Claude Code plugin, not a separate app or API. Install it, and /mission becomes an orchestration layer on top of Claude Code’s native subagent spawning. You stay in the terminal you already use. No new runtime, no config marathon — the mission goes in, the swarm comes out.

Why it’s getting attention

This is the same bet Cursor’s Agent Swarms and Cognition are making — one agent becomes a team — except Spine does it purely through Claude Code’s own extension points. Anthropic already ships the plumbing: subagents can fan out, nest a few levels deep, and run in parallel. Spine is the opinionated wrapper that turns that plumbing into a one-line command. Claude Code’s plugin ecosystem is exploding this week, and “make my agent a team” is exactly the itch everyone’s scratching.
