Reolink rolled into CES 2026 with two pieces of hardware that pair up. The OMVI X16 PoE is a 24MP triple-lens security camera — a 16MP dual-lens panoramic shooter covering 180°, plus an 8MP PTZ lens with 16× optical zoom and 360° endless pan. Spot motion on the panoramic side and the PTZ automatically locks on and tracks the subject until it leaves the scene. CES 2026 Innovation Award honoree, summer 2026 launch window.
What the AI Box actually does
The AI Box is the more interesting half. It’s a small standalone inference box running Qualcomm Dragonwing Q8 silicon, designed to plug into existing non-AI Reolink cameras and NVRs and run models locally — person, vehicle, package, delivery-person detection, license plate read, stranger recognition, plus ReoNeura natural-language search (“a man climbing a fence”, “trash bin is full”). No cloud round-trip. No monthly fee. That’s the whole pitch.
Why builders should care
Reolink already exposes ONVIF, RTSP, and an HTTP API; the AI Box adds webhook events on top. Home Assistant, n8n, or a Claude agent can subscribe — package arrives, agent fires a porch greeting and pings your phone. Local inference, addressable by code, with privacy as a side effect rather than a marketing slide.
