Coding agents like Claude Code and Codex normally live in a terminal, which means you are chained to your desk while they run. Omnara, a Y Combinator S25 company, breaks that tie by turning your phone into a command center for those agents.
## What Omnara does
Omnara lets you start a coding session locally and then monitor, steer, and approve it in real time from your phone, web browser, or even an Apple Watch — while the agent keeps running on your machine. If your laptop goes offline, the session migrates to the cloud so the work continues. The company says more than twenty thousand builders are already using it.
## Voice as a first-class input
The standout feature is voice. Instead of typing instructions, you describe what you want the agent to do next by speaking, which is faster and more natural when you are away from a keyboard. Omnara is built on the Claude Agent SDK rather than wrapping an older CLI, which the team argues keeps it stable as models and tooling change. The result is hands-free, anywhere control over agents that used to require sitting at a terminal.
